yeah...just playing the chords of most of the songs are really easy, obviously playing the lead parts are going to be harder

Isnt that just like saying "its easy to play All Along the Watchtower (Hendrix version), but the lead parts kinda hard..."

anyone can play the 3 chords in the background through the whole song... but that hardly means you can play the actual song.

Fast playing isn't necessarily hard...nor does it automatically sound good. The hardest songs are the slow ones with minor nuances.

if hes in a beginner guitar class he's not going to be play a lot, if any lead parts which would probably mean whatever song hes getting tested on will be mostly chords anyway
