i took the SAT and got a 1530 and my parents and me aren't very satisfied. I have heard that the ACT was easier by some people so i was thinking of taking that instead. So i was just wondering how many of you guys have taken both tests and what did you find worked out the best?
lol 1530 out of 2100, at first i thought 1530 out of 1600, i was like shit dawg.
act is easier, 4 questions, cant be penalized for guessing, shorter, just generalliy its for simple thinking, i do complex thinking so i would have done better on the sat, complex as in so indepth you often over think shit, act=simple answers, sat= more work less simple answers, IMO.
I took both. I was happy with my SAT score, but my parents had me take the ACT anyways. If my ACT was converted to an SAT score it would've been over 100 points higher then my actual SAT score.
Most people score about the same. I think its just luck if you happen to score higher on one or the other.
what? what score do you have to have to be in the 99th percentile?
Also, for the science section, its about your ability to analyze the data, not know it, I barely finished it, and I probably would've had a higher score if I'd known what to do. For either test buy a cracking the SAT/ACT book. Then you'll know what to expect.
I think the big difference is that for the SAT you can pay money and take a class that teaches you how to get a higher score but the ACT is more you know it or you dont.
Also for the ACT the faster you can read the better you will do cause if you cant read and understand the question fast you wont get through it all. But man I got raped by the mechanics and usage section on the ACT it brought down my overall so much.
I thought the ACT was easier but I did better on my SAT, 1380 (mainly due to an 800 in math) of 1600 and a 29 on my act.
The act reading is just straight reading comprehension with no vocab words versus the act has a ton of vocab. The act has a science section (really just interpreting graphs) and the sat doesn't. Also an advantage of the act is that there is no guessing penalty.
