I am a little desperate. For our final we need to discuss the 6 most important voyages in world history and why we think so.

here's what I am asking, What are 6 voyages I can use?
I have not read anything out of the book so I am hopeless. If anyone can help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

i'm gonna say columbus coming to north america
lewis and clark's expedition
creating the panama canal (not sure if its a voyage but it sure shortened one)
and
the trans alaskan pipeline
thats all i've got of the top of my head, obviously some are better than others

1493- Christopher Columbus discovers New World.

1519- Ferdinand Magellan's Voyage Round the World proves world is round.

1831- Charles Darwin sets sail on the H.M.S. Beagle and invents the theory of survival of the fittest and this evidence leads him to the conclusion of evolution.

How about the mission to land on the moon? That's a voyage...a modern day one, which some people might not use.

Columbus will be on almost everyone's list.

Marco Polo after he left Kublai Khan and WTF happened to all but one ship in his fleet.


Magellan going down and around Cape Horn.


James Cook and how he went to the Cook Islands, Australia, and that area as well as coming up near WA state.


Lewis and Clark. Kinda doesn't need a description.


Sieur De La Salle who was the guy that "found" the Mississippi.

voyages? as in any expidition?

first trans atlantic flight

first flight around the moon (its awesome that we landed on it, but just the fact that they saw the shaded part and were able to get that far out changed everything)

Darwin and the RMS Beagle

magellan around the world

Are you allowed to think outside the box? In which case I say the Odessy. It was one of the earliest extensive pieces of western literature, has so many references in modern culture and every person I know of has studied it in school to some degree. It is probably one of the most famous stories ever told.
