Loosing a ski in pow

Hi all

Well we all know it the dreadful time spent looking for your lost skis in pow. But what is there to do? Any advice? My wife skis telemark and she has these cords, but is that to dangerous – like the ones we know from snowboard. I just hope not to use to much time this winter looking for my planks in deep s…

get bright ribbon and tie it to your brake and tuck the other end in your pant leg.   thats about it.

powder chords.
they are these chords you hook onto your breaks and stuff the chord up your pantleg
when a ski comes off the chord goes with the ski and generally stays ontop of the snow unlike the ski and its neon orange or neon yellow so its supposed to be easy to spot in the pow.
ive never used em but i have a pair that i took from a friend who moved away

yes, this is what you need. haha

i just made some myself. i got a long piece of bright red ribbon (contrasts with the snow) and tied it to the bottom of my heelpiece of my jesters. there's a little place on jesters and most other bindings that are perfect for them. then, take the other side, but it up your pant leg and call it good.  these actually saved me on my first day at baker this year, not that there's any snow there or anything.

So you crash, they cord unravels out of your pants, you find the cord and your ski... Now what? How the hell do you take all that cord and get it back up into the leg of your pants in deep snow with all your gear on :S

step 1: roll cord back up
step 2:place rolled cord back in boot
step 3:ski off, because you didn't just lose your ski in powder

you could get a gps tracking device and tape it to the toe piece of your binders. or you could just tie some ribbons to them shits and tuck it up inside your pant leg.

Tyrolia mojo 18, set at 18, with one click too loose forward pressure to lower toe pressure more. Possibly find metal piece to stick on back of heel, weld metal across toe release point.

Or if you want to risk a pre release, Marker comp 30s might work(it's a marker, it might come off while turning on a small knoll or something) set at 30.

You won't lose your skis if they are on your feet.  Hopefully.
