It won't be exactly like a Hot Dogger because it doesn't have a tongued design, but a skilled boot-fitter can soften a boot. It involves cutting the lower shell's spine. Do not try to do this if you aren't one, but it is possible (and non reversible).
Yeah there's that, and for my boots (2008 Salomon Gun boots) you can remove the canting lock and replace it with rubber inserts. I'm not sure if that will work with the Kaos', and I'm not sure how much softer it actually makes them, but it is a reversible.
remove the liner and try to find out where the spk flexes exactly.in normal boots the back shell is responsible for the flex unlike the full tilt they flexes by the tongue. its is possible to make the shell softer by cutting out matierial out of the back of the shell. but its not recommended of course. but you will never get a flex like the full tilts because the a completly different construction.
