nice shots man. really liking the papa one. the foreground/background contrast is very interesting. roses are nice too, i like how in that one and in papa the subject isnt centered, it gives more depth and character to the shot. keep shooting man, you are off to a sick start
Love the one with the old man. It really makes you think about the character and tells a story almost. The rest are very well lit for your first pics also. Nice work.
so far so good!
great angle on the books but i'd suggest a darker background colour?
that way the beige pages would contrast more , then you could use less light on the books..create more shadow..that'd be sick but that's awesome that its just ambient light from the window
^I'll be honest Kyle, I like the uncropped version of papa better...
If you could make an uncropped one, without the bright light behind him (like the new one) it would be sick, I mean the candle isnt that distracting, maybe jus blur it a little more
ah yes the new grandpa one looks a lot better now.. I like how his face is better lit I think it gives the photo a cheerier mood and it fits since he's smiling. and for the one of your dog I like how the outside lining of the dogs face just blends in with the background it looks cool! But see how your sharpest focus is pretty much the dogs left eye? I think if it was even more focused it would give the image more flare. Here's my flickr.. http://www.flickr.com/photos/wheresoulmeetsbody/ check it outt
yes, I foolishly had the shutter speed at 1/25 because it was pretty dark instead of just raising the iso a little and raising the shutter to get a sharper shot.
