yea you heard it, I'm pissed off.

here is the situation:

I live in teh fucking middle of nowhere. Living in the middle of nowhere aint that bad since the since there is a ski resort kinda close. The good thing is that this resort prolly have the best snow conditions all around the province of quebec.
This resort also have a park wich could be good fun for every skier (as in skiers like you and me)
the thing is that the resort do not care about us and do not help us as much as they should be.

And teh worst problem is that they cant think about making something for more advanced peoples.

example. we have a set up made of dirt for a 40 foot table. We are organising a comp this week end adn I got to get the organiser to let me make the jump. So after 3 hours of shoveling up the kicker ( i got the shape done by a groomer) i decided it was perfect so i went and hitted the jump doing a 540 and went something like 15 feet over the table wich was rather good in my opinion knowing that it was for a comp. (actaually, for the pro part of teh comp)
So we filmed a couple of tricks done by myself and a snowboarder friend of mine to show insurances guys that the jump was safe.

Everything was cool and all teh kids were happy that we had a real good table for advanced skiers and snowboarders.

It seemed perfect but then some styupid mothafuckas started talking shit about the way the jump was. first they said it was too quick ( wich isnt true since both me and my frined hittted it and were able to stay super duper stable in the air) then they started saying it was dangerous ( isnt a big air jump always dangerous if you fall or something like that)

So teh thing is that they prolly turn my jump into a floater for the time being and we will go like 2 feets higher then the takeoff over a BIG AIR jump. ( they buildded the jump like that before i could change it and going bigger then a 540 wiuld have mean total hucking)

So finally I'M reallly pissed cause some people do not understand that some jumps are made for advanced peoples and 40 footers shoould not be hit by people who cant do shit in the park.

O and if they make the jump a floater for the comp I think I'm going to go twice as fast as i should go and and on my neck just to prrove that even their shitty jumps can be dangerous..

I'd like to have your opinion about all this shit.

i think you should post those videos...

but i feel you, my resort is retarded as well. The only nice jump we had all year was the Big Air jump, it was 45-50 feet with about 15 feet of amplitude. Other than that the owner will not build us a park. First he wants every member of the Penn State Snowboarding Club to buy a season pass at full price(over $325) That is cheap but look at my hill...

its way overpriced. He does not think that building a park would give him more business, what a dumbass, there are over200 members in that club, and most of them would go out to hit the park if it was so-so. He is a dickhead too, one day he took my skis and threw them because they were sitting on the poarch.

sounds like my hill. i feel your pain. just do what we do and if theres a hill near by make it into a transfer. we can usually squeeze out 15'ers for about 60-70 feet

i know how you feel ced. back at christmas time, myself, the other pipemonkey and one guy i work with got written up by ski patrol for making a jump safer. funny thing is that we know more about setting up kickers than anyone at that hill.

Our mountain used to be this way in the previous years. Then, somehow over the summer they got balls and started building really nice jumps and a sweet park. I think people will come around eventually when they see their buisness dwindling.

I so feel your pain. My mountain has a park with some ok rails (a handrail, a sticky double kink, a weak rainbow, and a battleship), but when it comes to jumps they have shit. Over the summer we asked them to build the landing for what would be a nice 'big air' jump. We planned on building a kicker on top with like a 10 ft gap (anything else would be WAY too dangerous). The only problem was that before we had enough snow to build the jump, we tried hitting what would be the landing as a distance jump. The ski patrol saw this, and decided that the 2 or 3ft amplitude was enough and when we finally built the jump, they made us take it down before we even got to hit it. Too dangerous. The people in charge know absolutely nothing about jumps. This one guy (the groomer) was talking about something like it was too dangerous because he considered the landing a jump, and if you 'went over' one of the jumps then you couldnt decide to change your mind and not 'go over' the second. I dont think hes ever been on skis before. Eventually we all cried to the manager and she ALLOWED us to rebuild it with about 2 months of skiing left. At the end of the season it was about a 5 ft gap to the landing- which turned to ice a couple days after we built the jump because of the fucking idiots who ride over it and then snowplow/scrape all the snow off the landing.
