Custom ski help

My goal in life is to start a ski company, but me being 14, not gonna happen soon. I want to get a small ski press for experimenting, and found this vacuum press http://www.snowboardmaterials.com/pages/ski%20presses.htm (the top one) and am a skeptical on the price compared to some of the others (450 instead of 2450) will this end up being a peice of shit? i am aware as it is a vacuum press it will require extra supplies making it more around 700$ has anybody had expirience with this model or any vacuum mold in general? My only source of income is waxing friends and families boards and skis, so this will be a huge investment for me. I realy want to pursue my ski company dream but don't want to start with a peice of shit.

dude your 14 and your doing this alone? my buddy and i(both 18) tried to make a snowboard in the spring. it didnt turn out good at all because we ended up rushing it cause we were going or seperate ways in the summer. you need to have experience with power tools, epoxy, fiberglass etc.

wait until your older man. i think we dropped like 2-3 grand(we had a pneumatic press so a little more pricy). and thats only with a couple power tools. we already had a bunch. were gonna try it again this spring and hopefully well end up with a ridable product.

im an engineering student and you have no idea how complicated manufacturing quality skis are. once im done school id also like to pursue something like a ski company but that wont happen until i have an education. you cant just pick this up by yourself and think youll be successful.

You might consider talking to some of the ON3P guys before you put up the amount of effort and the amount of money a task like this would require

its sick to show lots of initiative for something but the idea of starting a ski company is automatically biting off more than you can chew, no matter how together your shit is. ask any of the bigger or smaller companies out here, there's a very grueling period of no money, no product, and no sleep. at 14 i see it being really difficult to juggle money, school, and location. you'll need your own shop and a lot more than just a ski press, along with a ton of mechanical knowledge and a shit load of shop skill. i suggest waiting a few years and then seeing if you're really committed and have the resources
