Scharff and I just went to take a look. It's pretty cold, cold enough that they have guns on up top, which is unusual for this early. So hope for cold temperatures at night all week and we might be skiing next weekend.
theres a really small chance they could open the 5th or 6th though...
Dec 3rd: low 24
Dec 4th: low 27
Dec 5th low 29
^^if for some reason those temps get a little lower, then the end of the 1st week of December is looking good... anything can happen with the weather.
just getting back from idaho and it was supposed to snow like 10 inches and it didnt even snow 1 flake, anything can happen
I dont think they would start blowing snow two weeks before they open. I dont think they would want it sitting around that long or take that much time. I think the guy above is closer. But I dont know
The whole idea behind making snow in large piles like they are now is that it preserves it for days like the past few. Yes you lose some, but if you spread it out you lose it all. I'd say this weekend is very unlikely, especially with only being able to make it at night time. We'll see I guess though.
I thought 90% of the beginning of the year snow was primarily if not exclusively made at night because early season temperatures dont get that low in the day. Either way Im pumped.
Unless I remember wrong, I feel like there were a couple days last year where we were able to make it all day. If not, it was a few nights. 3-4 is probably unrealistic. But like I said, all we can do is wait and see, there are a lot of variables that go into it.
