the easiest way is, if you're using firefox, install the flash tracer
plugin and just let it run whenever you're on the site. i'll show you
any trace statement that the flash movie is making (text that a flash
developer can use to tell what functions within their movie are being
executed, if you're not familiar with flash), and it will also show
warnings or errors if the flash movie is making calls to unknown
functions and whatnot.
for example, as i'm typing this, i've got the line celebrity banner up top and the faction banner on the right side. the line banner is throwing a bunch of warnings...

the smith ads also run very slow due to the streaming video in the background, but that's a function of net connection speed as well as the processor hit that streaming video causes.
