Help with xbox 360 controller

So I have the old WIRED controller, and the wire coming out of the controller i guess is not touching the wire connecting to the controller, so it does not turn on..
Anyone have any idea on how to fix this? I was think of taking it apart, strip the wire connecting to the motherboard in the controller, and then striping another wire on the cord, and then connect new wires to the two parts I stripped, to kind of make a new circuit.
hope that makes sense, +k for help, thanks

Your most likely not going to be able to fix that. Buy a new one

I have a wireless one, I just modded my wired controller, so I want to see if it works, it wouldn't turn on before I modded it, so its not that..

cut the wire off then it will be wireless and you wont have to worry about it.

everyone that has posted is a retard. your idea in the first post should definitely work, i duno what the inside of an xbox controller looks like though you might have to solder the wires but hopefully not.

its worth a shot to try fixing it yourself, right? It might not be as easy as stripping 2 wires and then electrical taping them together tho, there could be multiple wires inside that one wire, ive never opened up a xbox controller, but if it is just one wire then you should be able to fix it fine.

Since you did just mod your controller you should be able to work with a solder gun. I suggest stripping a 1/4" of the plastic housing on each side and soldering the two wires together as you said. No extra wire is needed unless you have some lying around that you absolutely want to use. Then use electrical tape to cover the exposed wire.
