Guy didnt center mount my anthems

my mom was in town so she brought them to a store, i told her to center mount them but the dude said it was a bad idea.
so are they going to tottaly suck balls now?

well where did he mount them? that guy that mounted them should be killed its a damn symmetrical ski its meant to be mounted there. If it like a centimeter back or so it should not be too bad

How on earth could the guy say that? I'm pretty sure my anthems had a line in the center that said recommended or something to that effect.

make sure your parents know exactly what you want, and why, if the guy asks at the shop.

i had my dad take my wall's in, but he knew they were symmetrical. they have boot center and true center lines on the ski, so he called me up the day he was taking them in to make sure he knew what line to tell them to put them on.

your fault. always make sure your skis are mounted correctly YOURSELF. you are the only one who know how you want them, make it happen. and... next time, searchbar. this same thread is made weekly.

Make the guys at the shop remount them. They should at least know enough too center mount semetrical skis. Or make them replace the skis. Tell them that they need too replace them, and if they start too get angry and whatnot, just say that they disregarded the recommended line and screwed up your skis. if they absolutely refuse, then just settle for a remount at dead center.

yeah thats definitely the best option. ive never had any trouble getting skis mounted to cener mounted because i remeasure the skis to make sure they graphics didnt shift or something and i draw a line exactly where i want them.

thats always the best option, but regardless they would have spoken to YOU before not mounting them where u mount.

at the shop i used to work at if we descided the ski should not be mounted at the location indicated, we always called the customer before drilling to speak to them about the position, and what they are using the skis for.

in this case, the tech is a complete newb to the ski industry, or had a massive brain fart. Cause this ski not only SHOULD be mounted at dead center, but its DESIGNED to be mounted there.

I have actually gone as far as measuring it IN FRONT of the shop tech and then marking them right in front of him - it's really the only way to have the tech know EXACTLY where you want it, and if he messes up then, that's a HUGE fail.

I'd take them back to the shop and ask them to remount them - they're a wood core ski so I wouldn't worry about a remount, but this time make sure he understands what you want. - it's really messed up that he said it shouldn't be center when RECOMMEND MIDSOLE is CENTER! I've never had a problem with someone messing up a symmetrical ski because there is only 1 place it should be mounted with out a doubt and it's CLEARLY marked - in fact, I don't even think I told the guy who mounted my Afterbangs were to mount them cause it OBVIOUS and he knew that. The most you can do is ask for a free remount because the tech gave the worst advise ever.

1. didnt know my mom was going to town, but i called her and told her to center mount them, not knowing the person would disagree, so actually its not my fault.
2. its a local small ski shp so i doubt that they will replace my skis.
3. wouldn't mounting them again seriously fuck them up?
4.forgot what else i had to answer.

will they atleast be better for pow and groomers?

skis can be mounted 3 times (2 to stay in warranty). and they are your skis, thus if YOU want them mounted somewhere, make sure it happens... it's called personal responsibility.

they wont be better for groomers because theyre symmetrical and mounting them any other way will just fuck with your turning a little

i am basically at school when this is happening, i didnt know my mom was going to bring them to town.
i called her to find out where she was when i got home.
she said she was in town and was going to get bindings for my skis.
i told her to make sure to center mount them and any other way would be retarded.
she said okay il tell the guy to center mount them.
that should be enough.

Just be very up front with them. Let them know that they are your skis that you paid for, and trusted the shop with. The shop is obviously not very knowledgeable if they don't know that symmetrical skis should be center mounted. But explain the situation too them in a level headed tone, and be polite about it. This will get you way farther than screaming your head off at them. But explain how the shop screwed them, and since they are a ski that is designed to be mounted in 1 way only, it will dramatically alter the performance of the ski, and that they need too do something too fix the problem, be it a replacing the skis or a free remount. Rehearse your main points a little bit so that you know what your going too say. But be firm but polite, and don't settle for anything less than what you want.

where is boot midsole in relation to the the midsole mark on the ski? clip your boot in and measure.

The guy who mounted them obviously isn't very knowledgeable.  I wouldn't bring my skis back to that shop ever again if I were you.  I mean, it's pretty simple stuff, mount them on the line, and they should preform their best under the conditions they were designed for.

so i just tried them out today... and im in love with these skis.
amazing, wide enough for light powder, nice for nose presses.
these are my first 100 %symetrical ski. so busting tiny little 180's was very fun.
mounting is fine, only like a centimeter or 2 back.
only faults about the ski is its difficult to butter, and they'r heavy.

yes, yes i did.
i have salomon spk's. dont know if that makes any difference, but i cant get on the tails very well.

and heavy?   Even with relatively heavy bindings (px14 ti) my anthems felt pretty light, especially compared to my other skis.  But glad you like the anthems, they are a sick ski for sure.

very light, very flexy, and very thin.
and 180's were awfull
