i was watching the movie Apocalypto today and i noticed it has some striking similarities to a movie i truly love.
the sandlot.
now this may sound far fetched, but there are at least two scenes that practically mirror scenes from the sandlot.
exibit a- this scene (starting at about 23 seconds in the video) is exactly like the one in sandlot when benny the jet rodriguez is running away from the beast.
exibit b- this scene mirrors the scene right before the sandlot benny the jet vs. the beast chase when they both make a quick dash for the famous babe ruth ball.
frankly, Mel Gibson is stealing things from classic movies. next thing you know someone will find similar scenes in Passion of the Christ and the Goonies. i rest my case.
