MRM Blowing Snow?

 I heard next week it'll begin.  I'm sure BMBW, Snowtrails, PNS, and all others will be soon too.

maybe just maybe does anyone think any of these places will be open before dec. 12?
I'm goin to Colorado then and would love to ski in my new boots at least once before i go out there

I know Perfects won't open until we have a consistent base from top to bottom, which usually takes like 4-5 solid nights of snowmaking. Glancing at our forecast, it's certainly possible, although theres some rain in there which is bad. All we can do is hope I guess.

it's not looking good for the immediate future. snowtrails is usually the first place that's able to make snow because it's the coldest spot in the state (on a consistent basis). as soon as temps are low enough, you can count on all resorts being open 4 or so days after snow making commences.

interesting sidenote . . . this time last year, well actually 5 days and one year ago, i was skiing legitimate pow at holiday valley. how closely tied we are to the ever fickle weather patters on this lovely planet earth.

Not to be a buzz kill but accuweather is the worst site ever.  It always says it's going to get in the teens towards the end of the 15 day forcast.

Here's something a little more realistic.

I want to ride just as bad as everybody on this site and I hope that they can open soon, but this weather just isn't helping.  It's kind of depressing thinking about last year.  Holiday Valley got dumped on in late November as Mark said above.

Pray for snow......

haha i was thinkin the same thing. last year me and some buddies road tripped up there and skied legit pow pow the day before thanksgiving. amazing how much different it is this year.

Mad River Mountain is currently blowing snow and will continue all weekend as temperatures permit

it looks as if both mad river and surrounding resorts (pns & snowtrails) should be able to make snow the majority of the next week... does anyone think that any of the resorts will open before December 11th?

I'd say PNS has a pretty decent shot of opening next weekend. As long as temps don't get too high during the day. If we could get a nice stretch where we could make consistent, good snow for a couple days, we'd be in real good shape.
