Should I get my skis re-mounted?

I just got a pair of Rossi S3's. I told the shop to mount them at the +5 line (from core center I'm assuming) but they mounted them at 0, which is far back. I really want to just go ski. Should I mount them again, or will where they are mounted now ski fine?

what are you using them for? 5cm is a pretty big difference

Its a miss-mount, go back to the shop and make sure they know where you want the ski mounted, and it should be free of charge.

I'm doing all mountain. A bit of park, but if it's a pow day I'll be skiing pow. I think I'm going to leave them the way they are. Getting them remounted isn't worth the time.

makes total sense.
but let the shop know of the mis-mount. they will probably give you a pretty hefty amount of store credit or something

Alright. I don't really care if the skis will still ski fine.

When did I say I didn't care about the skis? I said I didn't care about the mis-mount if they ski well the way they are. I'd rather be on the slopes now, rather than wait another few weeks.

Uh ... dude. Thats alot of difference in how the skis ride.
I work in a shop and would never fuck that sort of thing up. 5 cm's is huge...
And a couple weeks? If I need to I can drill, mount, test, and be done with a ski in under an hour.

The shop is insanely busy. It took 2 weeks to get them mounted the first time. I figure I'll ski them a few times, and if I don't like it I'll get them re-mounted.

I wouldn't let the two week waiting list stop you. The fact is that they made a mistake, and if they are a legit shop they will put fixing that mistake at the top of the priority list. If they give you any kind of hassle just remind them that because of their incompetence there is going to be an extra set of holes in your skis. This degrades the value of the ski as it limits the number of times it can be remounted down the road, and is therefore worthy of some kind of compensation. If they know this, they will want to get you outta that store as fast as possible especially if your willing to just settle for them remounting them in the correct position.

I'm skiing them tomorrow If they ski like shit, I'll remount them. If not, I'll leave them.
All times are Eastern (-5)
