Replying to Future Employers Searching Facebook
Alright, so I feel this is a legitimate question regarding facebook and the trouble it could possibly get you in. I'm a senior in college and will be sending out my resume several different places in the upcoming months. In this this day in age, I'm not going to put it past most employers to put your name into a google search and see what comes up.
I've taken all the necessary precautions as far as deleting some video's on youtube and some pictures off webshots that may be offensive, irresponsible, ect. On the other hand, I don't want to be forced to sensor my fb page because of professional reasons. I should, but I'm not going to. So... I've put my privacy settings on the strictest it can go, in which case only my "friends" can see any of my content. While people may still be able to "search" for me, they will only be able to see a profile picture and my name.
So my question is this: regarding facebook, have I took all the necessary steps or do you think that universities or employers have anyway of bypassing these settings? or am I just being paranoid? I know alot of people have changed there last names on fb but I don't feel as if that is necessary.
Any help would be great guys, thanks.
