Ok, so a month ago i went and failed my drivers test because, and only cos i stoppes a little bit past the stop sign and didnt wait three seconds before i stsrted moveing again. The lady said that i failed to completely stop at stop signs? I did though it was total bs. So im going again tom and i was wondering like what the safest thing to do at a stopsign to pass my test would be? Theres two stop signs that have a line and obveously there im going to stop at the line and wait three seca and then go, but theres a few signs that dont have the line and im really second guessing what i should do there. what i was going to do is stop like 5 feet before the stopsigns without the lines, wait three secs, then move up slowly and go when im clear of traffic. Is this right? ans im like second guessing bigtime because were the stopsigns are you cant tell if theres oncomeing traffic comeing, so im not sure if i should stop at the sign and wait three secs or stop at the sign three secs and then move up slowly to were i can see the traffic and stop again? be mindfull the assholes can fail you because of "overcautiousness" to so whats the best thing to do. Or, if you remember what did you do on your test? Thanks for getting through all that + K for help

check the book to see what it says. If theres nothing in there is would say without the line, stop slightly before the sign, look, and then slowly ease into the intersection still looking each way as you pull out. mainly just relax....if your too nervous it will show and it will be a lot harder than it should be. good luck

Stop right before the sign, as in the hood of car should be just behind the stop sign. In colorado we wait three seconds at each sign as well, or until they can feel a little jerk back. I would recommend dressing nice, usually that scores points with the examiners. Also, make sure your music is off and talk to them about Thanksgiving or something, let them warm up to you! Good luck!

If there is no line, think about where you would paint the line if you were stop sign line painting guy.
Then stop there

Yeahh, this is what i was kindof thinkin of doin. I couldnt see why they could fail me if i totally stop, wait the 3 seconds, then move up slowly to look for traffic. Im still scared though. thanks

Key to passing a driving test: Drive like a grandma, as in don't speed, stop as long as possible, make sure its absolutely clear when yields, and wait a long time at stop signs. Sure, I never drive like that otherwise, but I got a perfect score.

dont stop to long. I usually just wait until I feel the jerk and then go slowly until i can completly see.

Within reason, of course. Just make sure your car jerks back, look both ways, then go.
