in light of rising noob levels i am hereby calling for the revival of the famed "Ban All Noobs" campaign we all remember (at least some of us) from years past. joining up is simple. place the "Ban All Noobs" slogan in your signature and vilify the new guy whenever possible.

this is not a hostile campaign, we merely seek to instill an understanding of the privilege of NS in the younger (join date wise) members of our community to bring about a new age in both the NSG and SG.

that is all.

was going to post this in SD, but seems better suited here.  To differentiate between the veterans, raging newbosauruses (me)  and all imbetween... why not display the "join date" above karma or something?  sry if it's already been mentioned, didn't come up on search

Btw, hope I haven't completely annoyed you all since I joined. trying to follow proper newb ediquette.  It's sad I look forward to getting on NS after work, but it just goes to show how much this site has to offer.  The only thing that keeps me level headed on the off season is relating to other skiers

Ok, I feel I need to say something here.

Firstly, I am 29 years old and have been involved in mountain sports since the age of 8… I have been at sponsored athlete level, coach and generally been to more places around the planet “playing” in big (very) mountains then pretty much 90% of the people here.

That said, I love this website and I have lurked on here for as long as it has existed – but have never joined, simply because I used it as a source of information and because a lot of people seemed like tools to each other on here – and come on, you have to admit, there is a lot of hate sometimes… which I admit to finding funny more times then not.  In fact, I never realized how funny some of you f******s are actually and regularly have spit coffee out laughing moments.

The reason I joined recently was because I moved from the UK, to America for a new job and used this site as a means of finding cool people for info on places I’ve always wanted to ride in N America - CO, Utah… etc etc…    so technically, I’ve only been a member for a few months….    So I think you need to define Noobs – surely they should just be called “the idiots”, or more then likely kids under the age of well probably 20… to be honest.  

Show some respect where respect is due, you never know who that “noob” actually is yeah…   but – I’m 100% behind flaming them if they come on and act like dicks…  but calling for all new members to be banned is mildly retarded…  and shows the reason it took me 10 years or however long it is to actually bother joining the NS.

The real problems nowadays are trolling and aliases.

Heres the deal. If you go and create a stupid fucking alias or a troll thread, haha, cheap laughs between you and your 12 year old friends for 5 minutes. In the meantime, yours and 30 other immature idiots have turned the forum to utter shit, making it an absolute goddamned effort to slog through all the useless shit to find interesting material.

So we have two options: Either these forums can go to shit and NS can become a shallow husk of what it once was to freeskiing or members can fight back. Dont feed troll threads. Call out aliases. And to anyone who actually has the audacity to create either, consider yourself at the mercy to whatever punishment us mods can dream up. Its up to you guys in the long run - the forum is whatever you make it.
