i think it would be a good idea for a member's profile to display if they are banned.  As of now the "currently" line can either say offline, or online for _ minutes.  Seems like it would be simple enough to say banned.

This would be nice. Also i hate when it says "more than 30 days ago". Is he banned? Is he gone? Is he just on vacation? It's annoying.

Thats a really good idea. And I think after someone is banned, any new accounts they make should have a tag on them that says "This account was made on the same IP address as another banned account" or something like that

interesting idea. what with all the noobs the mods have had their hands full with bans, so i imagine they'd be cool with this. plus, i doubt this would be very difficult to code

really, how often do people get banned on newschoolers? haha cause it seems like mods around here dont take this very seriously. lol

As far as banning people, temporary bans are most common unless they are trolling or just basically an oxygen thief

this would be going alitle overboard but you could even say why they were banned. and it wouldnt say"unorderly conduct". it would clearly display.

if you type the person's username into the login box and then put in a random password it'll tell you why they were banned

I got banned a couple weeks back for being "total disrepectful". I had no idea what I did. I emailed NS, they never responded. 5 or 6 days later I tried to log on again and it worked. It was wierd and I still don't know what happened haha

My brother got permanently banned by J.D. for making an America>Canada hockey thread. And because he did it from my computer (while I was out of the country, and nowhere near a computer), he then called me out in a thread too.

So they clearly take it too seriously.

^Literally have had that "it was my brother / friend / pet manticore, they got on my computer, it wasn't me" story 100 plus times. Actually over 100 times. I wouldn't be surprised if other mods have too. Everyone plays that card, so we just ignore it.

I think NS members should be able to vote for mods to be unmodded, like on survivor, and the last mod remaining gets a million dollars
