Thinking of making a wing out of skis for my van...

so i have a pair of 167 chrons (1st gen) that are way to short for anything more than an urban set up(which they are now)

since i dont see myself doing urban any time soon cause of my fucked knee, i was thinking of making a wing to go on the back of my van.

has anyone done this?/have any ideas of how it should be done? my brother and i are very mechanically inclined and most likely even have access to a lathe (i think thats how its spelt)

anyways...thoughts? ideas?

but usually wings make things fly, so i was really hoping he was going to create a flying van, anyways if your right about it making the van go faster then my dreams have been crushed, thanks a bunch

im assuming since you are a skier, and you the fact that you own a van, means that its a hippy van. now correct me if im wrong, but why the hell would you want to rice out a perfectly good hippy van?

first of all, its not a hippy van, i fucking hate hippys. its a 98' safari van thats on its last legs so i am having some fun with it.

second of all, this isnt exactly a 'rice' mod...its more of a joke mod for me and my buddies to laugh about. the van is haggard as it is so this would be icing on the cake.

and nope, no flying van! should be pretty fun having this bitch sideways in the winter though with this sweet wing up top.

Get some barstock, mill it in to supports for the wing. Bolt supports to the van from the bottom and the wing from the top. Should be super easy.

I'd just build it like the wooden one above, except use the skis side by side instead of the wood piece for the spoiler. Mount the supports at about 50-60 degrees and then run some countersunk bolts through your roof. You'll have to take off the headliner inside your van but It really shouldn't be too tough.
