A few questions about the setup im working on +K

So I have a drop in thats a little over four feet tall, and im going to start working on a flat rail. This is going to be a winter-only setup. How long do you think I could build the rail and keep speed? there isnt much slope to my yard. I was hoping 10-12 feet, but the rail is going to be metal so im not sure. As well i was wondering what types of metals slide best. I've heard copper and steel are both good, and can get both for around the same price. Any advantages or disadvantages of each? thanks guys

I dont know much about home made metal rails sliding but if they slide just as well as a resort a 10 foot rail still may be kind of long. With a good push you will probably be fine, but it also depends on how high the rail is if its 2 and a half feet tall going from 4 feet back up to two and a half will lose you a lot of speed and it probably wouldnt be possible. Be a little more specific and you will get more help.

alright well turns out my friend won't be able to do the welding anyway, so it'll be a 3inch pvc pipe, and between 2 and 2.5 ft up. Not sure about how long though i was hoping for 10-12 ft but maybe 8 if you guys think i'll have issues with speed. pvc is pretty fast so that might work. It depends on how smooth your transition is. I dont know how you could get copper for the same price as steal. Copper is worth way more. Its also pretty soft.
