what about the ashes from the eruption?It will well cover whisler with a solid cape of ashes,and then if it snowed,there would be avalanches,and it would be deadly,just confined to green runs less than 25 degrees

it was on cbs evening news......the blast would be so big everything in a 5 mile radius would be vaporized plus most of the surrounding area would be obliterated.......the tip alone of the volcano which is under a boiling lake is atleast 7 football fields long.......pretty scary shit

If anything, it would get colder. A long time ago some volcano blew up in Indonesia, and it was freezing in the NE for a lot of the summer. Yellowstone isn't the only volcano to be worried about. Mounta Rainer could kill people in Seattle, except it's not active. Popocatepetal(sp) in Mexico could destroy all of Mexico City very soon because it's active. Be more worried about Kerry winning the elction. Then we are truly fucked.

All of Yellowstone park is a massive ancient caldera (volcano crater), it was a 'super volcano'
National Geograpic and the BBC did a documentary about it...............and right now at the bottom of the lake in Yellowstone there is a huge lava dome building up........this pressure dome is buldging 100 ft in elevation

That cbs story isnt on the volcano as a whole, but a pressure dome in the middle of the lake that could vaporize the water if it releases anything.

The actual 'big' eruption occured almost 100,000 years ago, and is predicted to erupt every 100,000 years or so
