Its not a huge deal but its a pretty big thing im sure a lot of people expected him to sign with a bigger outerwear company but thats pretty sick that hes staying with sweet.

agreed, ive heard their stuff is really nice, but theres no way to get a hold of it here. theres a guy who i saw here with a sweet helmet and he loves it.

even if that is true that would actually be something pretty important. Bobby is "becoming the face of freeskiing", if everyone sees him in underarmor outerwear then everyone is gonna go out and buy underarmor.  Thus underarmor(corporate company that doesn't care about skiing) takes away customers that might have supported some legit ski companies.

Same thing goes with nike, adidas, etc. just because they have enough money to have a baller ass team doesn't mean they contribute greatly towards skiing.

doubtful, under armour and nike have involve themselves in the skiing industry for 2 reasons. one being they are smart enough to understand that skiing and snow boarding are now being looked at as rapidly progressing sports that are gathering a large fan base. and the second being they can get involved in the industry, they have the money and obviously the bandwidth to involve themselves in any industry they would like. which i personally think is awesome because they make such high quality products.

notice all the good skiers in the industry who are ALSO popular with the fans because they're class acts who know how to push the sport (e.g. jossi, tj, bobby) have joined up with these reputable companies BECAUSE they understand that although they ski for fun and have their friends around them day in and out. skiing is their career, and the love they have for their sport obviously will push them to make sure they see the sport survive even when they hang up their sticks.

i think nike, adidas, and under armour getting involved in the industry is a good thing. personally i don't mind seeing more skiers on the slopes. its good recognition, they respect the sport now as a REAL physically challenging sport. spinning and flipping and balancing on skinny rails while doing this is just as hard as smashing a baseball coming at you at over 100 m.p.h. if not harder.  these big boy companies getting involved just proves that. which is great for our sport.

how do you know underarmour doesnt care about skiing? they've been pumping money into their R&D to make better quality stuff, and are going all out it seems when it comes to their team, sounds like they're definitely investing in our sport. oh yeah, they also put on one of the coolest contests last season with the video slope. just because a company is corporate, doesnt mean they dont care about skiing.
