Sorry, but if you're saying that unaffilliated had the best cinematography ever, then you just havent completly understood the consept. I´m talking "HOLY SHIT, THAT WAS THE MOST EPIC THING EVER, THOSE SHOTS ARE MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN REALITY" type of thing.

I'm passing it to Alex Horner, kids got an eye for image composition and does beautiful work with his 35mm adapter.

I thought that was absolutely amazing... so simple yet so amazing.

I also really enjoyed It is hard w/ ski and shred flicks, because the technology gets so much better every year.

I am going to have to go with TGR on just about every count though. Those guys sure know how to get an epic angle w/ overdoing it/ being too artsy.

Also, Pollard may not be the best editor in the game, but Nimbus's shots are damn beautiful.

candide camera, thats it thats all, Theres a beutifully edited piece at the start of Hunting Yeti, between the intro and the first segment, with voice over, idk if you know what im talking about. Theres no skiing in it though

If you think the last one is cooler, ok. If you think the last one is more entertaining, fine. I'm sure 90% of the people on this site would agree with you, and I don´t mind at all. But HONESTLY, you can´t say that the performance Behind The Camera is better, at least I want to hear some damn good arguments.

That was all I was saying, no need to get pissy.

People need to start respecting the skill and the hard work of a lot great filmers out there.

you know what i meant by 35mm, i thought it was apparent enough i wouldn't have to write out adapter. I'm pretty sure he just uses his hpx though.. on most of his other work though, like the longboarding and nature stuff he uses a 35 adapter though.

Lets face it, were on a skiing website. Yah quality is Key in a good edit, but skiing talent is what rocks the edit along with editing. You picked a bad edit to compair with the 35mm one. They are such different types of cinematography in both editing an shooting. Im sure the first one wasn't chopped and screwed like the second one. Plus the second was in a park, tons of banger tricks come out of parks, not to mention kyle decker created the edit. I would say cop a copy of Refresh and watch New Era, Kyle knows how to operate a camera like a super pro.

yes mski. people are too worried about HD and not enough about skiing nowadays. edits with sony handycams can be way iller than ones with hvx's.

Some of the segs in Turbo had a ton of nicely designed shots, but 44 Days takes the cake in terms of shot composition, creativity, and motivated camera movement. And the editing and color timing complimented it beautifully.

In terms of the cinematography and general wow factor to the shots i really liked lots of nimbus, especially idea. The simple shots like pep skiing switch in the sunset are just beautiful

also, in terms of skill behind the camera, the shot in idea where pollard skis through trees holding the camera is pretty sweet

It's good to see that at least some kids on here know what good cinematography is... some still don't but that's the way it is.

Without creative editing and cinematography every company wold basically be putting out the same movie. Face it, theses days most of the guys in each crew can throw stylie tricks, sick doubles and tech rails. It's the cinematography and the way a vid flows together is what differentiates it. I'm glad some people on here realize that.

Unaffiliated is not in any way supposed to be some showcase of cinematography. I was hungover filming my homies at squaw on some down days. If your going to try to criticize or judge my cinematography to others, put in something that I spent some time/effort on. Watch 'Refresh' or my bonus feature 'New Era", not some half ass web clip I made in an afternoon shooting and edited in the backseat of Delormes truck on the drive home.

Arg dude everyone is getting it wrong, I´m just trying to prove a point to the kid who said that particular edit was one of the best he´d ever seen, cinematographicly speaking.

I know your skills as a videographer and editor are way beyond what is showcased in this edit, I own Refresh and watch a seggy or two every day, Delormes being my favorite one, and you made that.
So it´s not about that. At all.
