Adding shorties to cults

I want to invite my buddy, whose name is gc, to my cult, but the member search isn't returning any hits, which I am assuming is because he only has a two letter name. What do I do?

he could possible have requested an invite
in that case it wont show up on the search
and you have to look through the invite requests

And to the other people, that is not what happened.
In the member search function in cults, it doesn't return any results for names two letters long.
