so i bought a pair that were the same size as some i tried on at a shop. but when i bought the pair online they were much tighter, like bent toes tighter. is this because i have not gotten them molded, or do i need to return them?

i took the liners out, wearing regular socks, and my big toes are in a 90degree angle curve

When i bought my classics at a shop, the i got a size 28 which corresponded to my foot size.  the liner was really tight on my toes,  but the dude told me this was the right size.  once i got them heat molded, they add toe caps and a bunch more layers.  They now fit really nice, and i have some good room.

If that's with out the liners and your heel all the way back they're definetely way to tight

 thats why i made the thread, cause i dont, and i was wearing the liners with my toes kinda curled, not the boot. does ANYONE know? thanks and thanks for previous answers

when your foot is in the liner and your toes are curled up, how much room is there in the back of the liner, like the heel pocket? you can usually like pinch it to see. if theres some extra room, that will help. thats how mine are right now. they're on the small side, the real small side. but i like them. once you get them heat molded the heel should fit nicer to your foot setting you a touch further back in the boot, resulting in more room up front.

Take the liner out of the shell and put your foot in the shell. Place your foot just so your toes are touching the front of the boot. You should have about a finger and a half behind your heel. This is just a very rough estimate of if the boot is the right size for you. Also as you stand up straight your toes should be pressing up the front. Flex into your boot, see how it feels. Plus you need to heat mold Full Tilts, the fit will change drastically.

Well this is what has always bugged me with FT's.... They have a very short shell. Normally I wear a 27.5 in boots. When I got my Flexon Comp's they were a 28.5, but the same BSL. So if I were in your situation, I would just size up on shell size and you should be just fine.

FT's generally move from size to size by 8mm jumps (there are some exceptions), rather than the traditional 10mm jump.  So, as you move through the line, eventually a size does not match up with other boots.  Like a 28 FT (318mm) is more in line with a 27 (315mm) from another brand.

Always (as best you can depending on your location) try to get your boots from a shop, get shell fit, get a good footbed, and get them heat molded.  You will pay a bit more, but you will have dialed boots with usually some kind of fit guarantee.

If they are cool, your local shop will hopefully be willing to double check your shell fit and offer you some advice as to what to do.

Ha, I'm just the opposite. A 26 is just a little too big for me in typical shells and a 25 would require a lot of work to blow out the toe box, so FT is just perfect. Their 26 is money for me.
