Looking for a first camera, and found a used sony HDR-HC3. The listed price is 490, which seems like a damn good deal to me. It's in the same city I live in, so I would be able to check it out before buying. Has anyone used this camera, give me a run down on this camera? Any input is really appreciated, I am a huge noob to this stuff.
I've used this camera before on a documentary. It was sorta a B cam for when we needed to shoot discretely. It matched well with Sony FX1's, especially in daylight. It's a nice little camera if you want to make ski edits, although there aren't a ton of manual settings, and it doesn't have a microphone input, so it would not be good for making more narrative style films.
