Ok, so i just made my 2nd ski edit ever, (my first one blew dick, if you wanna see how bad it is on my page) and i think this one turned out pretty well but want some legit feed back. the qualty of shot is not great because of the rain/fog plus my camera is not great either and all this footage is from 1 day. Anyway i just want some feedback and if any questions arise please feel free to ask. +K as always (no hate plz)
Don't use that fisheye. Try to focus on setting up a shot a little bit more. rather than just putting the camera somewhere on the snow. For example, that shot from above/to the side without the fisheye was tenfold better than the other shots. Keep it up though and don't hesitate to try new things that you haven't seen in other edits before.
First like the guy above me said, drop that circle fisheye thing please, its more distracting than "creative." Also work on your white balance in terms of exposure, I am not sure how it works in cinematography (i am a photo guy) but a lot of your shots look washed out without a lot of color/contrast. It might be due to the overcast atmosphere but try and work on that. Also, look for some other angles, don't be afraid to get close to your subject etc...
Awesome crits guys and thanks a ton, i plan to film alot and make some edits this year and yes i wanna drop the fisheye but my camera (hate it) has a really really high minimum focusing distance so it would need to far away to get the whole feature, but i will try to work on that, and thanks again.
and Jordan yea i forgot to white balance in the morning lol
The distance should be fine. Just take the time to set up your shot. Use a tripod, get some panning/tilting shots to add a little movement to it. Again, just get creative and have fun!
