Skiing vs. Snowboarding

i really hope that was sarcastic. how many skiers do you see switch to snowboarding? next to none. tons of boarders are switching to skiing cuz they find it to be way better and cooler. the versataillity of skiing is wayyyyyyyyyyyy more than snowboarding as well.

i think alot of snowboarders hate because they view skiing as "an inferior sport trying to make itself look cool by copying snowboarding" and you have to agree that skiers have also been contributing to this little rivalry, by responding to these comments and going into arguments about which of these two is the better sport. however, snowboarders and skiers are continuously getting more accustomed to one another and are realizing that while they might be standing on different kinds of boards, they are both just looking to have a good time while doing what they love. its not rare to see snowboarders and skiers taking laps together in the park just chillin and having a good time, and i think thats the attitude we should all have.

It's kind of sad to see skiers in this thread diving into this, especially going and point the finger at snowboarding.


For the most part on this site you don;t really see it to bad at all, And in the parks your really dont see it.

I dont understand what some peoples problems are. Why can't we all have ski/ride together.


Why dive into an issue like this that is getting close enough to being dead.

Why bring it up, and stir any problems up.

just let it be. This whole blaming snowboarders or blaming skiers thing is just retarded.

There are actually a decent amount of riders on this site, me being one of em'.

That said, as far as where I ride in Washington at least, it seems the main gap is between freestyle and everything else. I ride with a pretty even mix of skiers and riders and we all get along just fine. We give each other shit every once in a while i.e. yardsales "at least my board can't fall off!" and "knuckle dragger! Snow pusher!" but it's all in good fun and we're just joking. There is no actual hate that goes on. Only real hate I ever see is when someone wears a tall-t on a pow day and its a giant icicle hanging below their coat after the first run, and they usually just get called a park rat but can laugh at themselves. Every one in my neck O' the woods is just having fun I guess. How sweet.

Most of the time when snowboarders are hating on skiiers is when the snowboarders suck.  Like most good boarders don't mind skiing.  I hate all the stupid kids that are like "omg skiing is so gay, whoever does it is a fag."  Usually that comes from the kids that brag about going super fast down a groomer and hitting a sick side jump.  It's likely that they have never even seen a decent park skiier.

at the same rate there are noob skiers saying the same things to snowboarders.

In reality, anyone who rides the park, and is decent enough respects the parks and the people in it. At least the majority.


Not including gapers that come through.


With that though, Some of the old gaper skiers hate the twin tippers almost as much as they hate snowboarders.

I think those are the people where any remaining hate is coming from.


As far as I see there really aren't any problems in the parks. Everyone is chill
