I know it may seem like it, but NS is certainly not the place to ask that kind of question. The veil of the internet allows kids to say things that they don't really mean, miss represent themselves etc...
You also may want to narrow down your field. If you interview older skier, racers, park skiers, park snowboarders, snowboarders with tight pants, snowboarders with baggy pants, gypsies, ski bums and snowboard bums, you're bound to get very different answers. It also depends on the region, in the North (north VT and up) you'll get a very different answer than you will from other parts of the east. That answer will also be different from people who ski in the rockies, the mid west, and the west coast. ANd you can't forget that there are people within the ski community who hate other skiers far more than snowboarders, and others who don't consider freeskiers any different from snowboarders. Age as mentioned before is a huge factor.
bottom line, feelings between skiers and riders is a very local thing that usually has to do with very few people. Asking a huge international community like NS will give you an answer that will make very little sense, especially because most people on this site are skiers. Try asking people you know first rather than the sea of random opinions that is the internet.
In my opinion there are generally good, respectful, positive feelings between the two. The two communities are extremely different and are at very different stages in their development. But in places where skiing and riding are big parts of most peoples' lives, I'd say feelings are finally good.
