Sony Handycam DCR-SR47

Alright so my dad randomly came home a couple days ago with this camera and said he wants to use it for family events. What im wondering is would it be a legit enough camera to do edits with that are somewhat high quality. (I know its not High def) it would be really awesome if someone had a ski edit useing this camera. +k for help.

dude i have basically the same camera and i gets the job done just fine, but i grew out of it really quickly.  its alright and will get the job done i guess but its not great

not hd, but it is mini-dv which ups the quality a little. 

and i also agree that it gets the job done, but i have also grown out of it very fast.  if its what you can get your hands on though, go for it.

ya man.  you can easily make an edit with that camera.  It's not the one I would have chosen in that price range, but it will certainly be a good learning tool for shooting and editing, ect.
