Why did saga pull the threes company line?

This is just my guess, I have no actual information to back it up, so take it with a grain of salt.

It seemed to me that they simply couldn't get their shit together on time to release it.  They had been hyping it all summer/fall, showing samples and shit, and when they time came for them to release the line, they didn't even have the Anomie series ready to go.

As I'm sure you remember, there was a shit ton of pressure on NS for them to back up their dates and drop it.  In my opinion, they rushed through the Anomie, dropped it, and said fuck it to the Three's Company this year.

Again, that's totally speculation, but it makes sense to me.

Saga told everyone that it was only a one off for there riders.

But what gets me is the fact that when they had the sneek peak picture thing going on they put the threes jacket out there like it was going to be sold this season. There still a great company they just need to manage there time better and get there sh*t right.

my guess is because ns puts valuble input into their product. since nobody in the ski world was ready for the retro colors and talked alot of shit on it when they first saw it saga might have gotten frightened that nobody would want it. then summer rolls around everyone changed their minds on it durtschi goes dub over pyramid and suddenly the whole world wants the suit. well yall shouldnta talked so much shit on it when it first came out.

Thats exactly what I was thinking. When they first posted the pictures of the suit it got so much hate. They prob said fuck it and will release it next season or just redesign it.

it really doesn't matter what their specific situation is

if they're an outerwear company then it's their responsibility to be organized enough to get their ship dates before the season starts...last year, and stay on top of a line of clothing. now

i love and respect saga and i know they're doing their best to stay on top of shit, but it is a simple responsibility as a company with reliant customers to do what you say. imo the masses will be happier if you have fewer products with prompt ship dates and stellar communications as opposed to trying to juggle a mass of new lines and getting ahead of yourself

But I was guessing that since the three's company got so much hate and everyone said it was ugly, they decided to pull it. I'm thinking it was probably a good choice. Now they can focus on Anomie, which is better in my opinion.

I don't know. I'm really starting to get fed up with Saga. As great as it might seem that they tried expanding into other "action sport" areas, they needed to wait a little bit longer. They have customer service to amp up before they should even consider expanding out of skiing. I'm definitely considering spending my money with another outerwear company after all of Saga's poor performance. Lesh over at First Drop has his shit together and he's running a company for the people, not his profit. However, I am bummed that the hoodies and other pre-order items won't be showing up for awhile, he's been more helpful than most companies and he has no control over production speed. Hopefully next year he'll be a little more ahead of the game, but so far he's doing great. Definitely a company to watch in the next few years.

It sort of pisses me off that First Drop has decided the waterproof rating system doesn't mean anything though. No offense to anyone and I think First Drop looks sick and will go far, but I think I should be hearing that from some sort of scientist rather than a guy that owns an outerwear company that just happens to have half the waterproof rating of his competitors.

and Saga has more control over production? If I remember correctly, they got fucked LAST YEAR because of this, production company was too slow and then they had customs and shit that made it late. same thing happened last year.

The fact that they are showing up on time this year proves that they are stepping up.

And about three's company, they said they had an executive meeting with their riders, and chose to fuck it this year. It happened right after everyone started hating on the new jackets, so I'm guessing NS's stupid bashing had a say in this - so people can't really complain.

Personally, I'm bummed that we won't see Durtschi's pro suit on sale this year, that suit is banger.

Yep. That's the only thing keeping me from buying a suit from them.

To the other guy:
Saga should probably be shipping their shit out in late October or early November. Even if they are a little more on schdule this year, they now should have an idea of how the production company works. Thy can order earlier and get the stuff earlier. Leave it to NS to fuck up such a great looking jacket. Shipping isn't the only issue, they have shit customer service. Absolutely terrible. They won't reply to your emails, your voicemails, just your PMs on NS and the. You have to contact someone else. It sucks.

have you actually been in touch with saga about anything? or have you just heard people talking shit who also probably havent been intouch with these guys? see what lies and embellishments have done to some peoples image of these guys (read saga wormth) . and being a bunch of bandwagoners on here its easy for people to hop on and think the grass is greener. maybe one person couldnt get ahold of them for a week and suddenly everyone talks like they have been waiting months to get ahold of these guys.

and who cares if you can get in touch with them on ns.com sometimes only. im sure 75% of sagas customers are nsers at this point. and im sure when people cant get ahold of them its because their buisness hours might be different than when you call.

Saga is such a hard working company, they are first and foremost skiers making stuff for skiers. They have been at the manufactures for weeks to ensure that these suits will be out on time and the quality that you all expect. If you don’t like it don’t buy it, someone else will. They have amped up their customer service so much. They give as much information as they can. Saga didn’t make the three’s company because it was made for their pro athletes, they want their athletes to have a specialized suit that no one else can get. The red, black and yellow jacket that you did see come up was just a sample that was not the same as the original line. They wanted to give a sneak peak of the line to stir up hype.  I have never seen people pull so many all nighters and work as hard as they do, they take so much input from you guys but most of all from their athletes. I think it is great that they are expanding their versatility by making shirts and other goods, slowing testing out what sells what is liked etc. It allows them to show their true creativity. These designs and mock-ups really shows their skill in design and creation, let it happen. This years gear is going to be sick! New shirt line is dropping soon! Be ready for more optical fire.
