Fujative Question

i am about 5'10 1/2 or 5'11 and i am seriously thinking of getting the 169 Fujatives because I have used shorter skis pretty much the entire time i have been skiing, but i have been hearing some things about getting longer skis, i dont realy go that huge off jumps and i am just starting to learn rails, will getting 179s force me to pretty much re learn how to ski on a larger ski for most of the season when i could be learning new tricks and new rails? And i am not stick thin, so will getting that small of a ski mess up my ski?I am riding right now 160 salomon 1080 vinnies so that will be a HUGE change. give me insight

grow some fucking balls and ride a real ski i'm 5'9' and i'm getting the 182 motherships. a longer ski isn't harder to control its just nicer to ride. and it won't take you all season to learn to ride a longer ski, if your a decent skier you can learn to control a longer ski then your use to in less then a day.

^ agreed. I went from 165 trouble makers to 175 no problem. Than I said fuck it and rode my friends 189 seth pistols. I am the same size as you, if your looking at those skiis I take it you should have some skiing experience and be good at it. Larger skis are faster and have a greater turning radius, but again, if you know how to ski, you should have no problem. Also, remember, chicks dont' like small sticks.

i have the orange 2001 161 it says so, unless you dont believe me. SO i should go with 179?

can you actually tell me why getting a longer ski would be better than getting a short ski i have only been skiing for about 2 seasons and i spent the first learning how to ski

but i still can ride very well but i learned on very short skis but they are mounted realy far back, is riding on a center mounted ski very different from a ski mounted realy far back on the tail?

dude....get the 179 really, it's mroe stable when landing and it's not that big of a change, I skied 182s when I was 165 a couple of years ago

Well if i do get the 179s and they are to big for me. can i send them back to k2 or something like that for 169's?

center mounted 79 fujatives wont be too small for you. i just wish they made an 89. im gettin some 79s soon though.

I warn against getting them center mounted. The Fujative is already a soft ski, and its only going to get softer as you're constantly applying pressure up and down the ski. You'll love it riding switch and in the park, but it can grow to be a pain on the mountain as the ski softens. At least to me it just ends up feeling awkward. But don't not do it, go for what feels right and learn from it.
