Ok, probably gonna catch a lot of shit for this, but if you manage to get past the shitstorm that TGR Usually deals to new members, i'd say it's one of the best sites for getting tech info, great trip reports and stuff like that, wich i'd guess comes from the fact that most people on TGR Are usually older than 20 years old, as opposing to NS, where most people are like 12. (No hating, i still love NS)

I would say there are a few on tgr that suck, but maybe its just that I've grown tired of NS. everyone here is fucking 12 years old, and im tired of a lot of the same old shit around here. Newschoolers isn't what it was when I joined in 2004. It used to be more of a community. TGR at least retains that and people post awesome TR's. The padded room is good too.

You have to understand TGR is a different community. It is more about slashing the powder, killing the tree runs, and hiking to get massive lines than it is about looking steezy, nut hugging Tom Wallisch, and jerking off to every park seggy while you bitch about Simon Dumont.

You have a question about skiing in general and want a clear, concise, normal answer? You go to TGR. You want to ask a question and get hated on for looking at getting a new set of powder boards instead of getting Jiberish, Line Afterbangs, or Saga Outerwear you come here.

I prefer TGR for that.

NS is sooooo active though, you can make a thread an get any kind of input in 3 seconds + the pics/vids section is awesome, as well as the cults.

I think NS is still a pretty good community, we need to start using cults more though to keep that old NS feel.

but really are you sure it is not just you growing up, realizing how stupid NS has always been? Like i don't ever remember a time when the site wasn't stupid and full of the same shit. Exept the one great peace era like 4 years ago, where it actually got annoying because people were too polite to voice their opinions
