Speed

There are those signs everywhere that say, "Speed Monitored by Aircraft" but I have always wondered does this actually happen?

I have never seen any plane flying overhead and a police officer has never told me I was clocked by aircraft.

NS, any insight?

Had one morning on the highway i took to highschool. Apparently for two hours, a helicopter patrolled 2 mile stretch of highway and ended up issuing over 100 tickets. Shit is reediiccuulloouuss

yup. they have guys sit in the coptor with timers and time cars from a certain point to another. if you are faster then the set time, boom! ticket

on some high ways you will see white marks in the breakdown lane shaped in L's. they're reference marks for the aircraft. they time your speed from point to point and find your ave. speed. a guy i work with got nailed by a plane on his way into work.

and to respond to the thread, the speed is monitored by helicopters RARELY, and when they clock, they can get like 20 cars each time they pass by, they only send you a ticket via mail, they photograph ur plates

I got one in new hampshire on 89 the day after thanksgiving. there were a bunch of cops flagging people over and giving tickets, like at least one car every minute. he just said that i was clocked by aircraft gave me a ticket and let me go.
