Replying to Sports video game franchises

I think it is about time the people at EA games start re-thinking the model they have in place for their sports franchise games.

I'm tired of repeatedly having to buy Madden every year only to see 1-2 new features, and many of the same old glitches that have been around for several years now.

I propose they make their sports games subscription based (sorta like World of Warcraft) where you can buy monthly or yearly subscriptions, rather than having to re-buy the game year-after year. Madden (like many other sports games) is a giant work-in-progress, and if it were subscription based they could increase the frequency of updates and patches, and also implement new features and solve any problems on the go (rather than having to rush to complete the game before the its deadline).


This idea seems like a no-brainer to me... am I mistaken?
