Remounting skis

It depends where they mounted them. If they are quite close to center, than a remount wouldn't exactly work very well, because the new holes would be close enough to the old ones that it may compromise them, thus you would rip the binding off of the ski.

If they are farther back (3+cm) and a center remount wouldn't put new holes near old ones, than I don't see why not. It's just sort of a pain in the ass to mount skis (at least when I do it by hand in my basement) so you just have to make sure it's worth it.

Yeah, bring 'em back to the shop and ask for a remount, and make sure they know EXACTLY where to mount them (I usually draw a line on masking take so they know exactly where to mount them). The skis will be fine with a remount, especially since it's a wood core.

Just don't mount them more than 3 times.

if they drilled them for a center mount but they are skewed on the ski, the tech must have had the rubber on the jig under the edge on the one side. i have bad news, if you are remounting with the same bsl the holes are going to overlap, and there deffinitly won't be a cm of material inbetween holes, you'll have to go 1 cm back. in this case i would actually go back to the shop, if these are new skis i would suggest new ones. you don't want to sacrifice being at center  and havig a shotty mount. then again, as a ski tech i mounted my skogans last year for the 5th time in the toe pieces, and 4th in the heels, all of the holes overlapped and i heli coiled all of them, seriosly all 16 screws, and they are holding on my urban skis still. i would never suggest this to a customer, but  its funny if they are old skis let them heli coil them. i shouldn't say this but i trust a properly installed heli coil more then a normal drilled hole. never seen one rip out.

Agreed and this is tough.  Don't assume when you bring twins in to be mounted that techs will mount them center.  They should ask, and if they don't, I would make sure that you tell them and watch them write it on the ticket.  If you told them to mount center and they didn't, they owe you a new pair of skis.
