I have had multiple injuries similiar to this. and I would wait two or three weeks before thinking about going to the doc. mainly because I didnt have insurance, but also because I could semi wait it. I had major swelling and could still move it. i finally had it checked after seveal years and many injuries. and I had no damage, only carilage , so it crunches when I bend it. tough call .
Go Get Proffessional Medical Help ASAP. Keep icing it and trying to get the swlling down.
Doesn't sound like MCL or ACL. Could be Lateral if you can't twist it. Can you pull your foot up and down against force?
meniscal tears occur while twisting the knee when it's compressed. you could have pinched the meniscus as you landed and then ripped it a bit when your ski caught an edge.
a doc will be able to tell you exactly.
