Looking for colleges

I am looking to go to school somewhere out east or west.. I live in Michigan and am a big skier.
I was looking for any D1 schools in like vermont, colorado, utah, montanah, idaho, etc

I know from visiting a lot that all colorados big schools are 2 hours away from the mountains.. that might be to much

dont know much about VT besides the sick skiing

and the mormons of utah scare me and people tell me i should stay away from utah schools

anyone got any advice?

Ignore what anyone says about utah unless they live here, because if you think VT has sick skiing you will shit yourself when you ski in utah.

I'm always hearing that University of Utah is an intense skiing/party school thats close to the mountains. I don't know my friend was looking into it, if you want I can give you his membername so you PM him about, he's pretty physched about it though

Eheath speaks the truth. past two days i have skied waist deep pow and its not even december. Resorts open next weekend. If you meet the right people here you can party every weekend if you wanted to.

University of Washington is an hour away from good skiing. University of British Columbia is good for skiing, as is the University of Utah. Colorado College is a good school in Colorado Springs, as is UC Boulder.

If you really don't like the Mormons, look into UN Reno and then you're a little more than 30 minutes from Rose which has some dope terrain and then you're within an hour of all the best places in Tahoe. Lots of real fine park in Tahoe too and power days go off up there, especially at Squaw. You're also only like 2 hours North of June and 2.5 hours North of Mammoth.

Utah and Vermont have totally different vibes but both are super fun. Try- if you can- to visit both because you gotta test the waters before you know if it's right. Great people and opportunities in each, just a matter of where you fit. Trust me.

totally throw idaho out of the picture. Utah is definitely legit. i rode a foot of powder yesterday in the logan backcountry. the u is a real college and you can party every night if your into that. you really dont have to worry about mormons. i grew up around it my whole life and it not even a big deal dont come to usu tho it blows. U of N reno is definitely legit. all Tahoe resorts are less than an hour away. Washington is also a great place to go. if your wallet isnt very big check out montana state in boseman. total ski town.

you should look at Montana state university in bozeman it has 3 resorts within 45mins of campus a free bus to two of them, no lift lines, deep powder and some of the coolest people to ride with.

yeah, i have a lot of friends that go to reno and they're always telling me about people getting robbed at gunpoint. downtown reno is disgusting too-- the only good part about the city is it's super close to tahoe and like 3 hours from sf so you can go to some music festivals too.

maybe you should also consider the programs the school offers? you don't want to go to a school that has hella good skiing but you can't find a major you like.

Utah is a no brainer. Unless you really don't care about park then utah is still epic obviously but you could also consider msu and western state. Odds are if you go to boulder you will party more than you ski cause booze will be cheaper than gas. Here you can party, sleep in till 10, be at pc by 11 and have an epic day of park skiing. Or if you're a first chair kinda guy you only have to get up at like 8 instead of like 6 or whenever you'd have to get up in boulder.

Well yeah I have skied out west a ton. And been everywhere, just haven't seen the college side of it. And yeah I party. and I just keep hearing that i like cant party at utah or buy boos or anything.

Depends on your major really, they have one of the best meds schools, and a decent law school and business school. The U offers a lot of different majors, some more legit than others.

i applied to U of U and USU. also, although skiing in Idaho is the best shit on earth, there are no colleges close to any legitimate resorts. BSU is only close to Bogus Basin. but Bogus Basin is also known as Mt. Bogina, Bogay Peaks, and Bo-gayestplaceonearth. U of I is in the middle of nowhere.

I'm not being ignorant.
I just dont live there so I dont know.
Im just trying to figure out what I want to do. because I have looked up the schools and know about that. But they dont tell you about the party life, girls, or skiing at the school.
