well, the only thing that really was on the line was whether the AFC championship game will be played in indy or in foxborough.
the fins and jets got nothing on the pats, they are surefire division champs and still in good position to be able to skip the WC round.
than, you showed that youre one of the NFLs best teams, dominating pretty much the whole game (still losing it, but whatever). and dont forget (i dont take this as an excuse), this one pass interference call that boosted the second-to-last drive of indy (which in turn resulted in NE getting the ball way before the 2min warning) was unbelievable.
than again, it was a poor spot on the ball, so if anyone comes up again talking about how the pats drawing flags and getting calls how they want, please look again at this game.
so in the end, bill thought they could win the game there more likely than punting it to peyton (to somewhat the 30~35 yd line). now, i thought they shouldve punted, but everyones smarter afterwards. the D looked banged up the previous drive and so i think they almost had to go for it. guess they punted and peyton drives back without any obstacle and scores with no time left? anyone would call belichick out for not going for it.
