UK uni skiers - Val d'Isere?

Is anybody from the UK hitting val d'isere on the week beginning the 19th of december - apparently there should be over 1000 university students there, its a big resort but there must be some NSers out there who are going for the week?

i've got a good crew going from my university but is anybody else going? well stoked!!!

My uni has chosen to isolate itself, and head to Tignes on the 11th instead

But, from what I've heard, it's one big piss up, on the slopes at 12pm, ski until 3pm, then get ready for a night out.

Hence, I won't be going. First chair, last call is the only way

sweet! the PLAN is to grab the first lift up/ last run down as im only going really for the skiing cos its so fucking cheap - £320 all in, thats not bad - however depending on the clunge situation the PLAN may have to be put on hold this time around...

First few days at least should be early bird catches the worm - never been on a uni trip before but i am told it should be one hell of a piss up!

im going to upgrade my pass so i can ski into the Espace Killy area so i can hunt out the best parks/whatnot haven't been to val d'isere for yonks so not sure what to expect

I've been on uni trips before, usually more about the drinking than the skiing but I find it hard to sacrifice skiing for getting wankered! If I had to choose between skiing and booze I would give up drinking no question. Or you could just get up early anyway, nothing like cold mountain air to clear the head haha.

That's sick! Sounds like a mini BUSC - Main Event. I went to that in 2008, it's in Easter. 3000 students, one resort. Messy. You'll find though that you still need to rush to get the powder if you're lucky enough to get powder.

Don't expect to sleep much though.

yea, but i know most students are going for the week ending on the 19th! most of us want to be back for xmas!

tignes is gonna get swamped, like val claret is getting 6 different uni's trips that week! should be awesome though, soo cheap at £320 for everything! snow is looking pretty perfect to!

Bristol is heading to Val Thorens this year at that time so that's where i'll be but as per usual it's a fine balance between having fun on nights out but still managing to get up for the first chair..

Is the Val D'Isere trip before christmas not the varsity trip?! Im at Glasgow and were goin to Risoul after new years. The skiing could potentially be really average but the booze up will be epic.
Anyone on here at BUDS this weekend? Fuckin EPIC!!!

Me and my friends are pretty much just driving through Europe this winter, stopping when we find somewhere good, etc, so we'll try and make a few stops to shred with the UK uni kids: the best Uni kids in the world!

I'm heading out to Tignes in four days, first trip there so i'm excited. Managed to steer clear of Val D so far, just to avoid the fucking invasion of public school dickheads who take over the place every year.

And C) im not a dick head!

but i HAVE prebooked a lift pass to the whole Espace Killy area so im am sorted for visiting tignes!- and can just boost away from the invasion of pringles!

Yeah busc was pretty sick at easter, then nz again this summer and buds a couple of weeks ago. I'm in val thorens from 12-18th of dec and davos 4-10thish of jan...can't wait..

There were over 1000 in Val last Christmas too, it is ok, most students just party a bunch! Think Necastle uni is there 12-18th, I can't make it this year! The val park may not be that built up that early in the season, they usually take ages. If you want to find out how NOT to ski in val watch 'the season' currently available to british people on bbc iplayer, it was being filmed last season and it sucks :D

Anyway Val is sick, 90 lifts of one pass and a huge range of terrain and backcountry for minimal hiking, worth the 6 euro pints...
