I completely agree with you.
Climate change is occurring, there is no longer any doubt at all.
No one knows for certain if it is caused by humans or natural causes, yet we continue to sit here an argue about it.
I have been stating throughout this thread that whether humanity is the cause or not, we should be acting now. A ticking time bomb is counting down if we are the cause, if we are not the cause we are still blowing through all of our resources.
This video makes complete sense to me, hope you care about it enough, especially as a skier.
He is no scientist, but he does not take a stand on the scientific data, he simply breaks down our future and how to live the best in it.
Just think about it, how old is our earth? Now it took us 200 years of industry to strip the earth of much of its resources. We are destroying forests, burning oil, coal, natural gas, wrecking agricultural land etc. We are not living in a sustainable world.
Whether or not humans are causing change, our lifestyle is not SUSTAINABLE. We must begin to change our lifestyle is we want to enjoy tomorrows world.
This change will have to start in the US and Europe, I accept that, because we are the most progressed areas in the world we must lead the earth on this issue. If we can cut our energy resource use and/or emissions and begin the start.
It's like gambling on this issue, we can not act and possibly come off scot free, or have our shit wrecked... OR
We can ACT on this issue and a) save the world from this environmental disaster
b) make an economy that is not reliant upon non-sustainable resources but did spend a lot of money on the issue that turned out to be false
THE ONLY RESPONSIBLE CHOICE IS TO ACT ON THE ISSUE we risk spending money we didn't have to, but in the end we would still have a sustainable industry and that is worth paying for anyways, it's going to have to happen at some point.
Please argue with me on these points. Thanks
p.s. I hate Al Gore (and I'm an environmentalist)
