its hard to put into words perfectly.. but at the end of my season im always trying to land new tricks and there are always some i never quite get, but then when i try them again at the beginning of my next season i get them really quickly and a lot easier..
does this happen to anybody else? i feel like somehow not skiing makes me better focus when i do get back on skis or something.

i was just thinking about this today. it always seems like i progress over the summer. it might be because i have all that time to wrap my mind around the tricks, and truly visualize them. it could also be because i dream of doing huge tricks, so the smaller ones seem easy even though i couldn't do them before.

early season is the easiest time to learn new things, as you dont have any bad habits or comfort levels developed yet.. to answer your question

It's definitely a mental thing. Before every season I mentally list some goals I have, and work towards them as fast as possible when the season starts. I (and I'm assuming you and mostly everyone else) get so excited about going skiing that you just try new stuff.

Your stoke level is also higher at the beginning of the season, and that probably helps you sack up and throw down.

ya i agree your so pumped to be on snow again you just wanna go for everything...no hesitation and a lot of ski tricks (low to mid difficulty level ones) are just bucking up and throwing down
