Alright so I am looking for a good dslr camera to start out with and need some help. I have searchbarred and I think have narrowed it down to two but cant choose.
Canon

Nikon

I can handle either price but I don't know what would be better to start out with. I am mainly going to use it for skiing. Thanks

One thing I've always liked about Canon's system is that you're not limited in what lenses you can use. Nikon's system is such that the entry level cameras don't have an autofocus motor built in so you have to rely on the lens for that feature, limiting you to only lenses with it built in.
Of course, overall both have their ups and downs. There are idiosyncrasies with both companies. I shoot Canon only because one day I picked up and XTi and a few lenses later I was happy with my purchases and didn't feel the need to swap over.

XSI hands down. Much more manual controls, better quality and generally feels like a better camera.

Thanks guys haha I got my camera a few weeks ago and I decided to spend a little more money on the T1i and I absolutely love it. It takes Hd video which was why I decided to get it. I will post some edits and pictures from out here in utah later on

megapixels arn't what it's all about but the xsi has double the pixels... that can't be ignored, it also shoots a frame more per second.

add $$ and get the t1i you will regret not doing this later more megapixels + hd video should be enough alone.
All times are Eastern (-5)
