its alot more than that dude.
its not just about pollution.
its about food security, water security and quality, adequate living conditions in a warming climate (due to a increasing population), jobs.... so many things. this planet is not made to sustain that many people. yes it can hold and house that many people, but it doesnt need to and it shouldnt. 2 billion people on this planet do no currently have access to a stable supply of food and water. that should say we have an issue.
that being said, because we may address that a growing population is in fact bad for our planet, that does not make us part of the problem. since we are all already here, why not raise awareness about how a growing population on this planet is in fact detrimental to the condition of the planet.
it may be somewhat hypocritical, but were all "part of the problem" according to you. but since we are educated, we are more fortunate than probably 4 billion others on this planet, why not educate those who continue to have large families and let them know that it is hurting us. In nigeria, one of the fastest growing countries, their family structures are sort of backwards. Instead of the parents supporting the kids and paying for them, the kids support and pay for the lives of their parents, so the more kids you have, the better off the parents will be. so why not have ten kids so you can have more money. its things like this that need stop and those people need to learn that THEY are part of the problem, not us who actually address that there is an issue.
