Replying to Fargo

I have watched this movie several times, and its is just hilarious, yet cruel at the same time to me(I love it either way).  But while watching it tonight drunk, it made me think about what the hell the movie really means.

Like for example, what the hell did the scene with the asian dude and the lady cop have anything to do with the plot?

We discussed this for like hours, but, for those who have seen it, what is the message/point/overall  meaning of this movie?
