Difference between the HV30 and HV40?

ive been looking at both of these, i know everyone on ns loves the hv30, but what are the difference between them? what makes one better than the other?

The only real difference is the hv40 shoots native 24p the hv30 does not.
They are cosmetically the same I think the record button is different omg.
Yeah, so if you really want 24p go hv40 but I think on b and h photo there the same price now.

with 24p on the hv30, you have to do pulldown on your pc which is a bitch, hv40 gives you easy 24p. also the back light button is now a custom button, you can assign different functions to it. and the focus assist button under the lcd is now magnify, basically you dont have to be in manual focus mode to magnify the picture.

Well the hv40 is better ,but it's whether you want to spend the extra 100-150 for the native 24p and the custom button.

hv40 is better but its also more expensive, and if you don't use 24p (really for independent films), than the hv30 might be better for you
