Halpppp with 4frnt!

alright so i bought some 06-07 4frnts off of REI.com new in plastic.
I have been skiing them for the past month almost daily and they were pretty good besides the top sheet is chipping left and right. Then yesterday i was on a butter pad and my ski just popped of like it caught an edge or something and to my suprise i found that my inside edge of my left ski was jammed into the core. They are still skiable but really sketchy because the base is sticking out since it practically folded in on itself.

I was pretty much just wondering if you think this is worthy of being traded in to 4frnt for a replacement under a warrantee or something. I was about to email them the pictures but I wasn't sure they would even consider replacing them since they are kinda old.

You should also go ahead and email REI about it. They may have a warranty like backcountry does, if not hopefully 4frnt would stand behind their product because that shouldn't happen. You may have said this and I missed it but how many times have you used them?

I've seen this on a pair of Troublemakers and back in the day on some AR5s.  Both had to be repaired by a tech, but since you got them at REI you might be able to warranty them.  No ski company is going to warranty that though since it's obvious impact damage.  Sucks man.

yeah i rode them probably 15 times in the last month right after buying them
im for sure going to email REI, thanks for the feed back

the opposite of that happened to my jo pros and nobody would warranty me...
Given my skiiless situation, i decided to grab a vice and clamp it until it sort of sqeezed into a ridable shape.

same thing happened to my troublemakers. i didn't do anything about it and rode them for another 100 days and they've been fine. but REI does offer an unconditional satisfaction guarantee like backcountry. just take them in and say you're "dissatisfied" with the durability of the product (or say whatever you want really) and they have to give you new skis.

No way in hell 4frnt will warrenty them.

REI might though, it just depends on their warrenty program. I know backcountry.com has a lifetime warrenty for anything, which is fucking amazing.

looks like there was a screw sticking up on the box, a kid came into my shop with that asking me to fix the same thing, i told him to go back and take a picture of  the box and the nail, and his skis. him and his parents brought all of it to upper managment at lake louise and they bought him new skis. might be worth a shot checking out that box. shit should be properly maintained .
