my idea for the 4 hole insert pattern on lines...

ok, next year im pickin up some new Mick nicks. however my current rail skis (blue 1260s) are gonners. so, what i want to do is buy a pair of this years 1260s for like 100 bucks next year to use pretty much strictly for jibbing off the mountain. so what i am planning on doing, is machining out a .25 inch thick plate of aluminum to mount some p-12s on. then, im going to mount that plate to the 4 hole pattern. whats more, when i do this, im gonna do it like a disk on a SB binding, where the is adjustment fore and aft. so i can have them dead center, or in the event that end up skiing someplace with actual snow, i can move them back, more over the tails. i think itll work pretty good, and it shouldn't add much noticable stack height.

that sounds like an awsome idea. Be careful though, you may affect the release paterns of the look bindings.
But I defintely like lines idea on the interchangable bindings, the only flaw is you can only mount them in one location so I like your idea, dead center is the best place of jibbing and you can't do dead center with the line. so yah good idea, just be careful.

Why doesn't line just put 6 inserts into their skis, making it easier to move your bindings forward?

that many holes with metal inserts would probably f**k with the flex pattern.

no, it wouldnt affect the release settings in ayway, cause the lifted p12 will be higher. as for weight, im working on tring to take off as much as possible without taking away to much in between the bindings. i think cutouts under the bindings will take the most off. even if it doesnt work, i can always pull the bindings off and mount them normally to the ski. hopefully i can actually get around to doing it!

i believe line is making a plate so you can mount other bindings. It wouldnt be able to move like you want it to though i don't think.

yeah jib_this i had that same idea.....i don't think six holes would alter the flex any more than the four that are already there

line is selling a plate that you can mount other binder on to and then put that in the pre made holes, so yo can switch your non line binders from one ski to the other.

I can't wait to get my line binding with an adapter plate to mount it to non-line skis.
