That applies to the normal flu but the thing that make H1N1 so different is that it seems to target young healthy people with no prior health problems. Also no one actually dies from the flu, they die as a result of prior health complications that become worse with the one-set of the flu.
I don't know about you americans but up here in Canada I've spoken to many doctors (lots of my friends parents are docs and my mom is a nurse) and everyone who I've spoken to has said that getting the shot is a no brainer and that it is stupid for you to not get the shot. Why risk swine?
But then again I've had plenty of friends get sick with swine and not a single one has died. They merely had a really shitty week of being pretty sick.
